the deep rounded sides rising from a short tapering foot to an everted rim, freely painted around the exterior in cobalt blue with two scaly five-clawed dragons in pursuit of a flaming pearl, all amidst fire and ruyi cloud scrolls and above a ruyi band, the interior with a dragon medallion, the base with a six-character mark in underglaze blue within a double circle

Condition

This large and impressive bowl is in good overall condition with the exception of an ca. 8mm., wide shallow rim chip with ca. 2cm., associated hairline rim crack, a ca, 5mm., shallow rim chip with associated ca. 3cm., hairline rim crack, and a ca. 3.5cm., hairline rim crack, minor glaze firing imperfections including burst glaze bubbles, iron spots and small glaze pulls, and light glaze scratches.
