Condition
Executed on cream wove paper, sheet is t-hinged to a mat at upper corners and center of top edge on verso. in addition to the signatures the work is inscribed Max Burchartz gouache 1923 at the center of the bottom edge, likely by another hand. It is also inscribed and numbered variously on the verso. There are also scattered studio stains and paint remnants on the verso. There are some associated stains on the recto, these are limited to the margins, mostly at the extreme edges. there appears to be a few small losses in the vermillion pigment at the center right and a few very minor surface scratches, but overall the pigment is remarkably well preserved and the work is in very good condition.
