Description
- Gold/ruby
Comprising: a powder compact, the lid engraved with a floral design, inset with cabochon rubies, the push piece set with calibré-cut rubies, opening to reveal a mirror, measuring approximately 75 x 78 x 10mm, French assay and maker's marks, fitted case; and a lipstick holder of similar design, measuring approximately 16 x 16 x 60mm, French assay marks, one ruby deficient, fitted case; gross weight approximately 188 grams.
Condition
Lipstick holder: French assay marks for 18 carat gold to holder and lid.
Compact: French assay mark for 18 carat gold and indistinct maker's mark to base of interior.
Rubies deep red, transparent, with typical inclusions visible under magnification, some surface-reaching. Lipstick holder with one ruby deficient. Compact with hinged lid intact, with good tension, push-piece in good working order. Mirror intact. Compact includes powder puff and powder press. Both pieces with light scratches to surfaces and small areas of minor discoloration to metal and makeup residue consistent with age and use. In good condition.
