Sapphire and diamond pendant, early 20th century

Composed of two interlocking hearts set with calibré-cut sapphires and circular-cut diamonds respectively, suspending a pear-shaped diamond and an oval sapphire, to a belcher link chain, length approximately 460mm, fitted case.

Chain stamped 925 for silver, and stamped Italy on clasp. Pendant numbered 4340 to side of pendant at top. Diamonds bright and lively, central diamond measuring approximately 6.6 x 6.8 x 3.8mm, calculated to weigh approximately 0.90 - 1.10 carats, remaining estimated total diamond weight approximately 0.60 - 0.80 carats. Sapphires mid to light blue, transparent, with typical inclusions visible under magnification, largest sapphire measuring approximately 5.6 x 4.7 x 3.4mm, calculated to weigh approximately 0.72 carats. Overall dimensions approximately 56 x 23mm including bale fitting. Light scratches to metal and sapphire surfaces consistent with wear, areas of discolouration to metal surfaces consistent with age. In good condition.
