註：本冊以姑蘇廿四景入畫，吳秋農自跋按府志而製，綜合歷史勝迹，自然風光，盡攬古吳風貌。又謂「以意為之，不拘於形似間」，實非端賴揣摩文字紀錄，而參合親歷其境之經驗，重現於筆下。蓋畫家早歲鬻畫蘇臺，一景一地，深有體會之故。冊中諸景，亦涵蓋畫家筆下造景之各種圖式，無乃其山水構圖集大成者，故轉移借鑑，反覆增飾運用，恰如其分地帶出某景點之地貌特徵。技法多工巧細緻，間雜寫意渲染，足見面貌變化多端，筆法則取文唐，卻無繩規之拘，如「消夏風清」之細浪輕泛，如「林屋探奇」之浪濤洶湧，如「澹湖放棹」之波平如鏡，狀水之法，三者皆不相類。又如「獅林攬勝」之湖石造景，如「天池石壁」之岩層堆疊，兩者俱重石塊嶙峋奇突之狀，惟一出天然，一出人工，於其筆下分別立現，造景用心之妙，冊中俯拾皆是。
