註：蒲作英擅寫竹，常伴以石，本冊卻純取奇石異態為題，有玲瓏精巧如案頭之擺設，有縮龍成寸如移山之一角，或渾厚，或崚嶒，各呈天然之狀，兼有效前人寫石之技法，上溯米顛以迄元四家，實經畫家消融演化，筆墨沉實厚重，見自家面貌。冊中無上款，或供自賞，或如其繪竹之「竹譜」， 不無示畫石技法以傳之意。
