Description
- Santo Domingo and Cuba mahoganies, gilt-bronze, grey marble
- Haut. 87,5 cm, larg. 114, prof. 55,5 cm; Height 34 1/2 in, width 45 in, depth 21 3/4 in
with three drawers, on fluted feet ; with a rectangular grey marble top ; (with the spurious stamp of Jean-François Leleu)

Condition
The illustration of the catalogue is accurate.
Good restored condition.
The marble top: there are minute chips to the edges. The marble has been broken and restored to the front and right corner.
The veneer: very beautiful quality of mahogany.
There are the inevitable dents, marks, scratches and surface scratches due to age and use. There are restorations with minor replacements, especially to the frieze and to the feet.
There are restorations with 'gomme laque' paste filling : there is a restoration to the upper and right corners of the three drawers, there is an important restored shrinkage crack to the left hand side of the central drawer. There are a shrinkage crack and an horizontal construction crack to the right side of the commode which have been restored.
The structure has been slightly reinforced with minor pieces of wood inside the commode.
As stated in the catalogue the stamp of Leleu is spurious.
Very nice neoclassical design.
