Condition
This work is in good condition overall. The inconsistency to the texture is inherent to the artist’s chosen medium and working process. There is scattered but stable hairline craquelure throughout. Under very close inspection, there are a several, scattered pinpoint spots of loss. Under Ultraviolet light inspection there is no evidence of restoration. Framed.

Catalogue Note
"I think portraits and landscapes should resemble each other because they are more or less the same thing. I want portraits in which description makes use of the same mechanisms as those used in a landscape—here wrinkles, there ravines or paths; here a nose, there a tree; here a mouth and there a house."
Jean Dubuffet
