- 98cm. high, 149cm. wide, 63cm. deep; 3ft. 2½ in., 4ft. 10¾in., 2ft. ¾in.
decorated with Japanese island landscapes, with gilt brass carrying handles, on a George II black and gilt japanned stand
Condition
In country house condition. Movement to joints resulting in age cracks appearing on the lacquer surface. Losses and chips to the lacquer surface which is flaking in areas, most notably to the top. Losses, chips and rubbing to the corners, edges and stand. Gilding and decoration possibly refreshed. Overall with old marks and scratches commensurate with age and use. Of a commanding scale and very decorative. The stand has been re-blocked and made structurally sound.
