decorated with scenes of fishermen, pagodas and Chinese figures in a mountainous riverside landscape, surrounded by a border of rectangular reserves with birds and floral and foliate sprays

Condition

In good general condition, with the japanned decoration on the top in fine state, with minor retouches consistent with age. Some possible areas of water damage and retouching to the lacquer, as seen on some of the rocks and pavilions. There are general age cracks, in consistent with age. The white and gilt decoration in the frieze original with retouching commensurate with age.
