- Walnut marquetry, oak, brass, steel, glass
- 244cm. high
12-inch dial with wheatear border, double cherub and crown spandrels, matted centre with applied silvered oval plaque signed Fr Tantum, In Loscoe, the arch with a date dial enclosing lunar date and moon dial, flanked by dolphin frets, the movement with five knopped and ringed pillars, anchor escapement, internal locking plate striking on a bell, the case with caddy cresting, frets replaced with glass panels, rectangular trunk door, the plinth with a plain apron, the sides crossbaned and divided into panels, the whole inlaid with panels of arabesque marquetry, with alterations and restorations,
Condition
Dial in generally good condition, damage to both lower corners, spandrels re-gilt, hands replaced. Movement is complete and appears to retain the original wheelwork, escape wheel possibly replaced, it is dirty and requires a clean and service. Case is possibly associated, frets to cresting and front replaced with glass, upper side frets damaged but present, other old cracks and scuffs but in generally good restored condition. With pendulum, 2 e=weights, winder and 2 case keys.
