en laine et soie, l'une représentant une scène mythologique ou biblique, l'autre figurant la naissance et l'adoption de Moïse ; (petits accidents)
Condition
Panel story of Moses (55,5 x 207 cm) possibly reduced in size: it has a close lining of green silk with hoops. We would recommend that it should be relined and it would need fastenings or Velcro attached across the top for hanging purposes in the future. It could have been wider. Faded colours overall, some reweaving in places for example the top edge of sky visible across the width. There is a upward facing V-shaped split to the bodice of the central standing female figure to left of male wearing blue cloth which is in need of consolidation, and another one on the top left corner. Some some scattered repairs generally including highlights of silk for example sleeves of swaddled baby Moses in the centre foreground. Charming panel with beautiful detailing throughout.
Panel 2 (54 x 154 cm) possibly reduced in size: it has the same closed lining of green silk with hoops. We would recommend that it should be relined and it would need fastenings or Velcro attached across the top for hanging purposes in the future. Evenly faded colours overall. Some small scattered repairs in the areas including the both top corners. There is a small split lower left corner of robe of third figure including splits to his colour and edge of helmet and within his abdomen there are also splits and small hole within the dress of the far right hand figure of the lady in the blue dress and some small other splits. These are only noticeable on close inspection but would benefit from consolidation for long term integrity of the textile. This is a very finely worked panel with fine details throughout.
