Description

  • approx. 45 x 443 cm; 1 1/2 x 14 1/2 ft

Condition

This panel is comprised of three joint panels (129,5 cm, 283 cm and 130 cm). It has been lined in later watered taffeta silk which is in distressed condition especially along the lower edge. There is also a course linen interlining. It is recommended that it should be relined and it would need fastenings or Velcro attached across the top for hanging purposes in the future. Colors generally strong overall with some fading in areas for example to top decorative edge of central panel and to the very dark puce pink visible in the swag of left hand panel and faded in other areas of similar design in other panels. The two vertical joints in the panel are not entirely straight but this is not distracting the overall impression. This panel is exquisitely worked with beautiful details all throughout. Lining in need of some attention. Otherwise in very good overall condition.

Catalogue Note
