of cylindrical form and raised on three small feet, the exterior inscribed in regular script, running script and seal script on a mottled brown lacquered ground 

The brushpot is in overall good condition. There are expected flakes and short age cracks, especially along the foot. There are also typical losses to the gilding as well as surface wear to the rim and interior.
