Catalogue Note
The bold, large scale decoration on the stoutly potted form exemplifies Jin taste in Yaozhou wares. For a similar example in the Tokyo National Museum see The Masterpieces of Yaozhou Ware, The Museum of Oriental Ceramics, Osaka, 1997, cat. no. 94. A bowl of similar type but smaller in size was sold in our London rooms, 15th May 2009, lot 67.
