Description
- jade
carved as a pair of confronting dragons divided by a vertical band of beast mask and archaistic motifs, the stone of a variegated yellowish-celadon and russet brown colour
Condition
There are expected shallow nicks along the edges, the largest measuring approx. 0.4 cm to the horn of one dragon. The top of the left dragon's head has possibly been lightly polished to conceal an earlier nick. A section of the lingzhi head between the dragons appears to have been stabilised. The catalogue illustration is slightly redder than the actual colour of the stone.
