Condition
This work is in very good condition overall. Deckle paper edges are inherent to artist's chosen medium. Presumably original from the artist's studio, pinholes are observed located on the top center edge and both corners of the work, visible only upon close examination and are unobtrusive to the work's composition. A light spot of accretion is observed, located 13.5 cm from the left and 15 cm up from the bottom edge of work. A hairline discolouration is observed, located 14.5 cm from the left and 7.5 cm up from the bottom edge. A faint crease is visible only under close examination and raking light, located 20 cm from the left and 12 cm up from the bottom edge of work. Framed under glass.

Catalogue Note
Legendary basketball star Patrick Ewing has been a fixture in the NBA since his infamous draft in 1985. Having retired from the NBA after a 17-year career, the 11-time All-Star and Olympic Gold Medalist enjoyed both individual and team successes playing mostly for the New York Knicks. In the present work, contemporary LA-based artist Jonas Wood has transformed a Patrick Ewing basketball trading card into a magnificent drawing depicting Ewing posed in the midst of action. The work is a classic example of Wood's use of motifs drawn from pop culture and the inspiration he drew from abstract colorists from Modern masters such as Matisse.
