2 parts bound together, folio (14 5/8 x 10 3/4 in.; 372 x 273 mm). Part 1, "Le Triomphe de la Mort": 47 engraved plates by Mechel on 12 sheets, 2 full-page engravings by Zuccari, 2 engraved vignettes in text; text with light browning, occasional foxing, generally not affecting plates. Part 2, "La Passion de Notre Seigneur': Engraved title with architectural border, 12 full-page engraved plates by Mechel; some scattered light foxing, generally not affecting plates. Contemporary calf, spine gilt and with red morocco gilt lettering-piece, covers with gilt borders enclosing a central panel embellished with emblematic gilt devices, most prominently a skull and cross-bones, edges gilt, red patterned endpapers; some wear, foot of spine chipped.
