Condition

Good condition overall for this highly decorative set of four life-size terracotta allegorical figures, with surface dirt, notably in the crevices, consistent with age and handling. There are minor chips, notably along the edges of the bases and to the high points at several places. There is a slip to the surface of the four figures, partly flacking at several places, which may conceal some condition points. Winter: Minor losses are visible to the branch of holly and the tips of the flames on the urn by her side; Spring: The fingers on her proper right hand appear to have been retouched. Small losses are visible to the flowers; Summer: Her proper right hand have been restored with joints and small losses visible where the fingers have been reattached. Small losses are visible on her hair, along the edges of the base and to the foliage at several places. Fall: Minor losses are visible at several places, notably to the foliage to the grapes and along the edges of the base.
