Description

  • porcelain
of Thomas Lloyd Service-type, transfer printed in outline and hand coloured in a Mandarin palette, with chinoiserie figures in a landscape inside a border reserved with panels of birds in branches inside gilded frames, comprising; 
3 circular two-handled tureens and covers, 18.5cm., 7 1/4 in. across handles; 
a high footed two-handled rectangular stand, 32.5cm., 12 3/4 in. wide;
4 medium-rectangular two-handled footed stands, 31cm., 12 1/4 in. wide;
2 low rectangular two-handled stands, 28cm., 11in. wide;
4 shell-shaped dishes, 19cm., 7 1/2 in. wide;
and 42 dessert plates, one tureen with stencilled SWANSEA mark in iron-red

Condition

In overall good appearance. One tureen with a handle re-stuck; 5 plates with hairline cracks; 1 plate with section of rim riveted; 2 shell-shaped dishes with hairline cracks, a medium footed dish with hairline crack and the high footed dish with a handle re-stuck. In general there are some pieces with varying degrees of wear as a result of stacking.
