Condition

Both canvases have not been lined. Some areas of craquelure throughout both works. Some rubbing and abrasion to the framing edges of both works. Some surface dirt and minor surface abrasions also. One or two minor specks of paint loss. Some areas of paint thinning apparent in the painting of the male busker, notably to the figures waistcoat and to the centre left of the canvas. Female Busker: UV light inspection reveals a heavy layer of opaque varnish which obscures accurate reading. Possible minor retouching's to the ladies dress. Male busker: UV light inspection reveals possible retouching in the background in the upper left-hand quadrant. Both held in decorative gilt frames.
