Condition
The canvas is relined and the picture surface is clean and appears slightly discoloured and glossy due to the varnish. There are retouchings in the background and few retouchings in the dress, her cheek and arms. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals a layer of varnish of an earlier cleaning procedure, as well as some retouching to the neck and blue parts of the drapery. Overall, the painting is in very good condition. Offered in a ebonised and gilded frame in very good condition.
