Condition

The canvas is unlined. The paint surface is relatively clean, although there is a slightly discoloured varnish. To the naked eye there are some minor old retouchings to conceal the pattern of craquelure. Ultra violet inspection reveals an uneven and thick varnish. Furthemore there are some old, minor retouchings in the lower left of the painting. Overall the painting is in stable condition. The work is offered in a carved and gilt wood frame, one section of which is missing.
