Description

the cylindrical steel shaft covered with silk textile, decorated with columns of gold-overlaid foliate motifs, mounted to the neck with six five-sided plaques each decorated with scrolling damascened motifs 

Condition

In good general condition, the silk textile covering the shaft worn with discoloration and traces of old adhesive, some minor rubbing to damascening and discoloration to steel as consistent with oxidisation, the upper finial possibly a later replacement, as viewed.
