Catalogue Note

 Boris Groys
(Vita interiore della scatoletta, in Germano Celant, “Manzoni. Napoli, Madre, Museo d’arte Contemporanea Donnaregina”, 2007, p. 49)

"Art is, regardless of everything else, essentially a process of preservation. The works of art not only are treated differently from other objects, but they survive to the profane objects. Common objects end up in the garbage as soon as they become useless. While works of art are kept in museums and in archives, they get repaired and restored. Thus art represents a sort of  institution that presides the promise of immortality on earth."
