Condition
Original canvas. There are horizontal cracks throughout the paint layer but these are deepest along the central stretcher bar where they have lifted resulting in some paint losses to the blue to the left of the lilacs. Lifting cracks and paint loss are also visible in the lower left corner. There are spots of dirt scattered throughout and there is streaked staining running the length of the right-hand side of the composition. Inspection under UV light reveals no obvious signs of restoration. Held in a blue-painted wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
