Condition

The colours are fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration, although the image does not accurately convey the glitter on the surface of the work. Moreover, the overall tonality is slightly brighter in the original work, especially the yellow. The work is executed on its original canvas and is not relined. The grey paint close to the upper edge on the left side of the work presents some very fine stabilized cracks. Under Ultra Violet light inspection there is no evidence of restoration. This work is in very good condition.

Catalogue Note

"I've never believed that what I think about my own work has anything to do with the work itself. An artwork's success, in a way, depends on its capacity to co-opt an existing situation and to be co-opted in return."
