Oil on canvas, canvas is not lined. Surface: In generally good condition aside from being slightly slack on the stretcher and a small bit of gold leaf which has transferred from the frame along the lower left edge. Work presents nicely and is ready to hang. UNDER UV: There are a few small dots of inpainting in the sky.

The first railroad line in Rockland County, built in 1841, ran from Ramapo to Piermont. At the extreme left of this painting, you can see a train car with steam entering the picture plane.
