Catalogue Note
This figure is one of the trio in the Silver collection of the Postclassic El Chanal group; see the discussion in lot 43.
Here the figure is minimally adorned with only the stiff broad collar and a simple headband. However, he sits on a particularly high version of the equipal with the vertical slats well supported on the broad lower frame.
