Condition
The canvas has not been lined. There is some very fine drying craquelure in the hair of the third woman from the left, and some scattered spots of surface dirt are visible notably in the lower right quadrant of the composition (also visible in the catalogue illustration).
Inspection under ultra-violet light reveals some intermittent strokes of retouching along the upper and right framing edges, one small area in the upper right corner possibly addressing old flaking, and some other very minor scattered spots of cosmetic retouching.
Overall, this work appears to be in good condition and is ready to hang.
Presented in a decorative gilt frame with a nameplate. The frame has some losses.
