Condition

The canvas has been lined. There is a pattern of craquelure throughout, as visible in the catalogue illustration, and spots of old restoration are visible in the extreme upper right and lower left corners addressing paint flaking. There is one small spot of flaking in the mountains in the lower centre of the composition. Ultra-violet light reveals a relatively even varnish that prevents uv light from fully penetrating. However, some very small isolated spots of retouching are visible, including in the upper right and lower left corners. Overall, this work is in good condition and ready to hang. Presented in a decorative gilt frame.
