Condition

Overall, the condition of the bust is good, with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There is some veining to the marble, consistent with the material, including a slightly open vein on the proper left shoulder which terminates in a small chip. There are further chips to the edges of the arms of the bust and to the bottom edges where the bust meets the socle, including a slightly larger chip to a fold of drapery at the centre. There are also chips to the edges of the marble socle. There is a scratch to the base of the throat, and to a fold of drapery. There are a few small inclusions, including to the chest. There are a few dark marks to the marble.
