Description

  • Torso of a Roman General
  • marble, on a modern metal stand
  • Italian, second half 20th century In Antique Style

Condition

The marble was made in the second half of the 20th century and was intentionally made to resemble an ancient Greek or Roman torso. It therefore has deliberate chips and losses throughout, particularly to the high points, and a brownish orange patina which has been applied, probably at the time of carving. In consideration of this the condition is good with minor dirt and wear, in particular to the metal mount.
