Description
- Arne Jacobsen
- Desk Lamp for the Aarhus City Hall, Denmark
- brass, lacquered metal, Bakelite
Condition
Overall good condition consistent with age. There is a small loss to lacquer at proper left foot, slightly visible in catalogue illustration. The shade has possibly been refreshed or touched up at some stage in the piece's history. With a small black ink infill at the proper left brass bolt of shade. The top with some scratches and wear to lacquer at edges and a shallow dent at the proper left front edge. A scuff (approx. 2 in.) at the front plane. Retains original button. A rare model, these were designed to go on the library tables at the Aarhus City hall. The lamp column rotates left and right and presents very well overall.
