Description

  • Jean Besnard
  • Vase
  • incised Jean Besnard/France
  • glazed earthenware

Condition

Overall in very good condition. The vase with two areas of in-panting, inherent to the making to correct a firing defect. One of which is located to the upper side of the lip (approx. ¼ in. diameter) and the second running down from one handle to the base. There are two minute chips to edge of base. None of these elements are visually distracting and the vase has been examined under black light. A lovely sized vase with and interesting and characteristic glaze, typical of ceramics by Besnard. The vase with an incised signature to the underside.
