Condition

Overall in good condition consistent with age and gentle use. The wood surfaces present with minor surface scratches, nicks and minor abrasions, consistent with age and gentle use and largely concentrated to the lower portions of the legs. One armchair (left side of the catalogue illustration) with a small dent to outer edge of its proper right armrest (approx.. 1/8 in.) and a slight looseness to the proper right side spindle stretcher where it joins the horizontal stretcher of the seat. There is noticeable thinning and a loss to upholstery at the top edge of the proper left backrest (slightly visible in the catalogue illustration). The other armchair (right side of the catalogue illustration) with eight small indentations to the horizontal stretcher of the seat (each approx. ¼ in. square). One of the leather piping bands on the proper left upper joint (where the upholstery meets the wood) has been replaced with an elastic band and there are remnants of glue for adhesion. The upholstery on both chairs is original and filled with horsehair, presenting with some light fading and discoloration consistent with age and gentle use. The seat cushions with horizontal tears to the original upholstery, exposing interior cushion in areas. An iconic form by Finn Juhl which presents well overall.
