Description

  • Birger Kaipiainen
  • Covered Bowl
  • incised KAIPIAINEN/ARABIA
  • glazed earthenware

Condition

Overall very good condition. The enamel has been examined under black light and does not present with any obvious repairs or restorations. The cover is slightly ill-fitting, not sitting flush to the base. The underside with faint scratches and rubbing, consistent with gentle handling. A characteristic representation of Kaipiainen's stylized flower and fruit motifs, the bowl presents with a lovely saturated coloring.
