Condition
A rare model which retains the original leather seats, both chairs are in overall very good condition consistent with age. The wood of both chairs with faint and scattered nicks, scratches and minor scuffs, all consistent with age. On one chair, there is a sensitively executed professional stabilization to one upper joint at the proper left back leg where it meets the upper rail. The restoration is very well done and nearly seamless. All other joints appear in excellent condition. The original leather of this chair with slight settling of the stuffing and subsequent slight loosening in the center of the seat. There is some light fading to the leather and general scattered cracking. There is a professionally repaired separation in the leather (approx.4 in.). All of these elements are very common with leather of this age. The second chair with all joints in excellent condition with no evidence of repairs. The original leather seat with minor settling of the stuffing and subsequent light loosing of the leather. Also the leather with light scuffs scratches and minor fading in areas. One chair with a paper label to the underside, and the other chair with evidence of an old label. Both chairs with a slight tear to the silk underlining of the upholstery on the front edge at the underside of the seat. The wood of both has been recently oiled and the natural grain of the rosewood is highly figured and richly colored.
