- patinated and lacquered perforated brass
with original counterweight mechanism and ceiling canopy
Literature
"High lights of a lighting genius," Life Magazine, December 12, 1960, p. 57
Condition
Overall in very good original condition. The patinated brass surface with minor oxidation and very light surface scratches consistent with use and the natural aging process of the material. The wire used to suspend the light with some minor crimping. With loss of white paint to the inner surface in few places and to the bottom edge of the light fixture. Bottom circular glass shade present but lacking hardware for proper mounting to the shade. Although with a brand new professional rewiring, please note Sotheby's does not guarantee the functionality and/or the voltage compatibility for electrical wiring, and suggests having all electrical components inspected by a licensed electrician.
