modelled after the form of a bamboo hat, incised to one side with a poetic inscription, followed by the signature Mansheng, the base impressed with the seal Amantuoshi, the interior of the cover further impressed with the seal Pengnian

Condition

They are in overall very good condition, with the exception of some typical minute nicks to the mouth of the teapot and the edges of the cover. The incised side is of a slightly darker tone.

Catalogue Note

The inscription can be translated as:

The shade of the bamboo hat, and the tea's sunshine - a dark soup:
They were two, and became one in me - Buddhism without the words!
