Description

the spout modelled in the form of a short gnarled branch with burls, the shoulder of the vessel surmounted by an angular handle simulating a gnarled branch bifurcating into two thinner 'branches' on one side, the body of the vessel with inscriptions in varying scripts, signed Cheng Fu, the domed cover surmounted by a 'branch' finial, the interior with a recessed rectangular cartouche enclosing a Dasheng mark
Condition
The teapot and the cover are in overall very good condition, except for a tiny flake to the rim of the cover and a minor stain below the spout consistent with use. There are also some original potting and firing imperfections, including a small recessed area with a firing line above the base of the teapot.
