Condition
The surface of the overlifesize sculpture appears to have been waxed. there appears to be some restoration and replacements. Very impressive sculpture.

De l'ensemble de la composition se dégage un suptile équilibre entre ampleur et élégance des formes, rappelant le travail de sculpteurs anversois à la suite d'Erasmus Quellinus I (1584-1640), dans la mouvance de son fils, Artus Quellinus (1609-1668), et de son gendre, Pieter Verbrugghen I (1615-1686). De ce dernier nous pouvons notamment signaler les grandes statues en bois sculpté du confessionnal de Saint Paul, à Anvers.
