Catalogue Note

This is one of the pirated editions that Blackmer suggests drove Stackelberg in 1831 to reprint his work in a German edition: Trachten und Gebräuche der Neugriechen (1831). It varies from the other editions in that the plates are lithographed, not engraved, but the subjects are identical to those in Trachten und Gebräuche.
