The artist's oval canvas is unlined. There is a fine pattern of craquelure in some areas, and a few tiny spots of paint flaking primarily in the background to the left of the figure. Ultraviolet light reveals scattered signs of retouching, notably a spot in the left of the figure's mouth and one to the left of her right eye, some strokes in her hair, intermittent strokes along the framing edges and some other small scattered spots. The painting is otherwise in good condition and ready to hang. Presented in an oval decorative gilt frame with floral motifs.
