Catalogue Note

First edition. with "worthylie" on leaf C1r, line 24. In addition to Spenser's Colin Clouts, a satire on the uncertainties of the courtier's life, this work contains six poems commemorating Sir Philip Sidney, including Spencer's "Astrophel," two pieces by Spemncer's friend Ludowic Bryskett (one signed "L. B."), one likely by Matthew Roydon, and two attributed to sir Walter Raleigh, the dedicatee.
