Catalogue Note
First edition. The Cambridge Greek scholar and antiquary Joshua Barnes was a prolific writer of verse, drama, biography, religious and political discourses and other works, including editions of classical texts. His Gerania is described in the D.N.B. as "a whimsical voyage imaginaire that may perhaps have given Swift some hints for the 'Voyage to Lilliput'".
