Worked in rococo, cross, brick, chain and other stitches, signed Elizabeth Maxwell 1774, in a later ebonized and parcel-gilt frame.

Condition
Please note that this needlework has not been examined out of frame. Some spot stains. Minor losses to some of the silk threads, mostly to the background of the uppermost section and the chain stitch at the bottom. Typical discoloration and wear consistent with use and age. Wear and rubbing to frame decoration with a 5" chip to inner section of frame at bottom, other small chips and losses.
