Provenance

Purchased by Empress Alexandra Feodorovna on 1 May 1899 for 100 roubles.  Curiously, a second invoice, dated 21 May 1899, was sent to the Imperial Cabinet for half the amount, suggesting that the decision was taken in the interim to split the cost between the Cabinet and the Empress' household.

Purchased at Wartski, London, in 1963 by the present owner

Condition

Excellent condition, one petal of one flower very slightly bent and the ribbon and flowerhead mounted to the left edge of the frame very slightly loose.
