Condition

Original canvas. There are frame abrasions with minor associated paint loss along all four edges. There are scattered flecks of paint loss. There is a layer of surface dirt with yellow spots in places. Inspection under UV light does not reveal any obvious signs of retouching. Held in a simple white wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.

Catalogue Note

This painting was given by Angelina Shchekin-Krotova, Falk's widow, to the father of the present owner, a photographer who worked with Dmitri Sarabianov on the Falk monograph published in 1974.
