Original canvas which is buckling slightly at the edges. Faint stretcher bar marks are visible at the edges. There is deep craquelure throughout which is lifting in places, with associated minor paint loss. There are scattered paint chips, most notably in the upper right corner. In the upper right corner there is also a pin hole in the canvas. There is a layer of surface dirt with flecks of dirt and staining in places. Inspection under UV light reveals areas of restoration throughout: at the edges, in the foreground and in the sky in the upper right corner. Held in a decorative frame. Unexamined out of frame.
